The pattern for this quilt is called Dusky Mountains. Commissioned quilt. Person wanted yarn dyed linen fabric. The background color is called Nutmeg, Ivory for the mountains, Expresso and Indigo for the triangles. Used stippling for the overall quilting pattern. The quilt was a challenge for me. Linen is more difficult, it is heavier and tends to ravel. Also, the colors requested did not match the pattern so I struggled a bit with the placement of the pieces. I needed some advice from a friend and from my son ........then the pattern came out correctly. I feel like the pattern is striking. I was unable to make it larger though so may not be exactly what the person requested. I did the best I could.

Daughter Jessi chose this Helios pattern with coral and white fabric for a new quilt. Went together quickly. I knew I needed to quilt it with straight lines. On the longarm, straight lines are difficult for me. So I forced myself to use a longarm ruler. Marked the lines in the squares first and then used the ruler. It worked well. I did get better as I went along.....practice!!!
