Scrappy Quilts are very fun for me.  This one is called Flying Anvil by Marilyn Mowry.

Scrappy quilts are really my favorite.  Aunt Ellen gave me some orange, dark green and light green fabrics..........added more from my stash.  Had fun doing some new free motion patterns.

Pattern is called Casablanca by Allison Bergquist.  So many little pieces but very fun to make.  I like the woven look of the red and gold and the tiny purple triangles. This was a good challenge for me.............

Flying Four Square Block

Machine Quilting Pattern on the back.

Made this baby quilt for grand daughter's preschool teacher who is expecting her first child. My daughter helped the preschool children hand dye this fabric.   They pressed real flowers onto the outer border strips.

Here are some more table toppers.  Taking a block and adding side triangles.  The binding must be narrow and cut on the bias.  I really enjoyed these smaller projects.  Idea from Julie Cefalu........the Crafty Quilter.

Another left over block .............add the side triangles to make a table topper.  I am getting great machine quilting practice on these smaller projects.

I found a unique idea on Crafty Quilter website.  Julie Cefalu posted how to make a swoon block into a table topper.  I have been working on several block table toppers lately.  Here are two.........applique blossoms.  Very fun projects.

This fabric is called Best of Morris by Barbara Brackman for Moda Fabrics.    My focus fabric. Black, green, gold....love these colors.

I found this quilt fabric with birds...loved it.   I chose 12 different blocks from the website Quilt Blocks Galore that were 12 inch blocks and a square in the center.   I then fussy cut the fabric so that a bird was in this center block.    It was so fun to make 12 different blocks.   I did feather quilting on the sashing strips and a fancy spirals on the outer borders.

My daughter had her fellow teachers tie dye  squares to make two baby quilts for  friends.  I sandwiched and quilted them  this weekend.  My daughter wanted  only quilting in the ditch so that it would not compete with the tie dye design.  The quilts are unique and creative...............

A lap quilt, housewarming gift for our friends new lake cabin.   My friend wanted a simple pattern with greens, brown and tan.  This pattern is a traditional churn dash.   I did several different quilting designs. Here is the history of the churn dash pattern.

The name of this pattern is Delectable Mountains.   It was very challenging.  A minature quilt measuring 18 x 18.5 but so many seams which did not all line up as I had hoped.   My seam ripper got a good work out. Great use of my scraps. Each piece was 1"× 3".

Fancy Schmancy quilt pattern.  Bountiful Blooms fabric by Moda.  Quilt pattern designed by Wendy Sheppard.
