This quilt is called Amaryllis by Laundry Basket Quilts.  My friend Julie, since first grade, sent this quilt kit.  It will be a wedding gift for her grandchild.  It was a difficult quilt.  Needed to match all those points which I learned how to do from youtube.  It came out pretty rippley but after quilting and washing I think it turned out nicely.  Of course, it was a fun project.

Taught granddaughters how to quilt.  Used 2 1/2 square bundles I bought in Lancaster.  Taught them to hand piece, including the quarter inch seam line and how to join rows nesting the seams.  Both girls were successful right away and seemed to enjoy it. They completed all 7 rows in just a few days.  I made them a second quilt kit that is just slightly more difficult. Etta is 13 and Wilma  is 11. When they stay with me this summer I will teach them to make quilts on the sewing machine.

This quilt is called Sequoia Sampler by Alex Anderson.  I watched Alex Anderson's show, Simply Quilts every morning for years.  I love this fabric.  I have enough left to make another quilt.  The fabric is called Etchings.  A portion of the proceeds go toward Parkinson's Disease research and care.  I felt that maybe this quilt was a bit too busy.  But overall I like it.

This quilt took 7 months.  It was great for taking a square when I travel.  Hand sewing.  Mostly to Brooklyn, hanging out with the granddaughters. The Pattern is called Prairie Meadow by Lori Holt.  I used Lori Holt fabrics too.  Longarm quilting large quilts like this one is getting harder for me.  I have purchased a much larger longarm which will easily handle large quilts.  Yay!

My trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania!  Amazing quilt stores.  No chance of visiting quilt stores around here so this was a great opportunity.  Loved seeing all the Amish horse drawn buggies racing through all the traffic, clothes hanging on all the lines, boys and girls on scooters.  Everyone dresses the same.  Enjoyed visiting with the Amish women in the quilt shops.  Several had German or Dutch accents and very friendly.  And I bought lots and lots of fabric!!!

Whistle Stop Quilt.  Enjoyed piecing it.  I decided to quilt it with my regular sewing machine.  The longarm is loaded with another quilt.  It is not easy to quilt on the regular machine........I had some difficulty.  The longarm is much easier now for me.

Oldest grandson wanted a green and blue quilt.
