Here is darling Olivia snuggling with the Hawaiian quilt pattern pillow I made for her parents years go.  Very fun pattern to work on........hand quilting but using only two colors is not my favorite  style.

Just finished these two doll quilts.  They are much larger than I usually make.  They measure 23" by 30". Lots of free motion quilting practice using an over all stippling which I do not do very often.  It was fun.
One is a gift for my granddaughter's preschool and the other is a raffle gift for my daughter's doll making workshop.

Another birthday dress for my oldest granddaughter.  Second time I made this dress from the pattern Geranium by RAE.  Great directions and very easy to sew.  The best part of this dress is the fabric.  It was made in Japan, designed by KOKKA Co. Ltd. "Trefle".

Here is the fabric close up.  Little tiny ballet dancers and the print says "I Love Ballet" and my granddaughter does love ballet.

We worked all of September to remodel the toy/guest room.  No more crib.  For these twin bed quilts,  I used the same fabric  but did two different designs.  I was very happy to find the peach fabric for my background that matched the peach walls.

Table topper to match

Grandmother's Flower Garden

In 1976, my friend Leah's mother Greta taught me how to hand piece this quilt.  This is my first quilt.  With a cardboard hexagon pattern,  I used fabric scraps from my clothes sewing projects.  It took about a year to complete.   I took the quilt to a lady in downtown Spokane to hand quilt and bind.  She had a large quilt frame set up in her living room and charged me very little to complete the quilt.  I did not go back to quilting until the year 2000 when I took a 6 week class in quilting with a sewing machine and a rotary cutter.  Much different experience.

I took a few months break from sewing.  With yard work and traveling with my husband, there was little time.  Today my husband is driving with my son cross country to my son's new home in New Jersey.  Sad but excited for their family's new adventure.
While I am alone, I am back to the sewing room.  Granddaughter number two is turning 3.  This is her birthday dress.
The pattern is called Geranium by RAE sewing patterns.  Very easy and fun to make.
